Margon, Cuban culture, New York

Arriving late in New York, I knew, even before I sat down, that eating in the hotel bar/restaurant was a mistake. JK was tired and didn’t want to go out, the guy at check in said the fish tacos were amazing, let me tell you right now, he is a bloody liar.

So, the next morning we did not eat breakfast at the hotel and, instead,  asked a doorman we passed where he ate breakfast and so we ended up in Margon, just off Time Square but a million miles away.

Margon, it turns out, is a bit of an institution in NYC and serves some of the city’s best Cuban food, which I really want to go back for.

Our breakfast was fast, tasty, and a bargain at just $5.50 for the American breakfast platter , 2 eggs, ham, bacon or sausage and home fries, plus a great cup of coffee!

Absolutely no frills but, highly recommended.
